Communal outfits becoming tools in the hands of imperialism: CM

Kozhikode: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday said some communal outfits that have become the tools in the hands of imperialist powers were mercilessly killing people and trying to destabilize the nation.

The Chief Minister was speaking after inaugurating the conference on national integration organized as part of the 40th anniversary of Markazu Saquafathi Sunniya at Karanthur near here.

“We should be cautious against the forces trying to convert religiosity into communalism and then turn it into terrorism. It has been revealed in the Parliament that imperialism spends on spreading communal disharmony. We witnessed the cruelty of such ‘powers’ in Rajasthan. It was horrifying to see the culprits setting a human being on fire and laughing aloud watching the horrific scene,” the CM said adding “it is a heinous crime that the leaders of such people are ready to justify such acts.”

Talking about the US President’s recent announcement on Jerusalem, Vijayan said the US move of recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel was the latest example of how wicked imperialism can become. “All the world leaders were against the move of US president Trump. But he went ahead. The aim is to attack its enemies after spreading hatred and communalism across the world.”

"The administrative machinery has to be impartial if the values of national integration are to prevail in the country. People should feel assured that all extremist and terrorist organizations will be brought before the law in the same manner. But such unfortunate incidents are recurring in the country forcing people to doubt the credibility of the administrative machinery," he added.

Sunni leader Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musaliyar presided over the meeting. PTA Rahim MLA, Thamarassery Bishop Remigius Inchananiyil, CPM leader T K Hamza, writer K P Ramanunni, Chairman of Kerala State Minorities Development and Finance Corporation, A P Abdul Wahab and Abdul Hakeen Azhari spoke at the function.
