Cochin airport to open at 2pm on Wednesday
text_fieldsKochi: After two weeks of suspended services due to flooding in runway and disruption to several vital functions, Cochin international airport is to resume operations at 2 pm on Wednesday.
All domestic and international services will resume on August 29, Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) said in a statement.
Civil aviation services operated from the Naval Air Station, which had commenced as an alternate arrangement, will be stopped from Wednesday. Authorities have said people will be able to book tickets at the CIAL airport, as earlier for flights from August 29.
The CIAL suffered an estimated loss of over Rs 220 crore due to the floods and operations were halted since August 14. The airport shutdown followed the floods this month that were worsened by the opening of the sluice gates of several dams in Kerala following heavy rain.
