Thiruvananthapuram: BJP president Kummanam Rajasekharan has asked Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to change his name if the latter thought calling India as Hindustan was communal. In a Facebook note published in response to Pinarayi's speech at Mangaluru on Saturday, Kummanam said that the Chief Minister lacked a conscience on history.

"If Chief Minister thinks the word Hindustan is communal, he should change his name. Though Vijayan is name of Arjuna, it evokes memory of Sri Krishna. It's a shame for a communist leader like Pinarayi. It is more easier to change one's name than to change a country's name," the note continued.
