Attempts to deify Sree Narayana Guru: Kodiyeri

Thiruvananthapuram: CPI(M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan Monday alleged there were attempts to idolise social reformer Sree Narayana Guru as a Hindu God.

“Any attempt to misinterpret Guru's ideals is tantamount to insult against the great reformer. Some are trying to reverse the progress of society.” Kodiyeri said on the occasion of the Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi observance at Chembazhanthy in Thiruvananthapuram.

“The clashes in the name of religion will finally turn out to be a setback for their own religion,” he said.

“Youth should take initiative to spread the ideals of the Guru,” he added.
