Malappuram: The police Saturday arrested the main accused in murder of a gas agency owner at Valanchery in Malappuram.
Yousaf, a native of Ernakulam was arrested in the wee hours of Saturday. He was a close friend of Vinod's wife Jyothi.
The deceased Vinod had one more wife apart from Jyothi. He also had a child from this relationship.
Vinod was found dead on Friday at his house at Vellanchary.
Neighbours, who rushed to the victims' house on hearing cries of help, found Vinod dead and his wife in an injured state.
About Rs 3.5 lakh in cash and an Innova car were taken away from their house.
Vinod had several deep cuts on his body and a longer knife was used to hack him. There were signs of scuffle inside the room where Vinod’s body was found.
