Vadakara: The Revolutionary Marxist Party(RMP) has retained the Onchiyam Panchayat in Kozhikode district.
RMP’s Kavitha Anjumoolaparamb has been elected as the president of the Onchiyam Panchayat. Kavitha gained eight votes while her opposition candidate got seven votes.
Two IUML members supported the RMP member and the Congress and JDU members abstained from the voting.
Of the total 17 seats in Onchiyam, the LDF has got seven, RMP six and UDF four.
