Thiruvananthapuram: Police Inspector General, Thrissur range, T J Jose, who was allegedly caught copying during an LLM examination, has been given clean chit by Additional DGP (North) Shankar Reddy, who investigated the incident.

In the report, the ADGP has said that he could find no evidence to prove the allegation against IG Jose. He said that the answers given by Jose in the answer sheet to all the questions were wrong. “A person who copied during the exam will never give wrong answers,” the report said.

It also said that the invigilator, who caught the IG cheating in the exam, could not find the bit notes of photostat copies of various lessons Jose allegedly used for copying.

Jose was allegedly trying to copy answers from the papers in his possession during Mahatma Gandhi University LLM examination Crime -II paper at St Paul's College, Kalamasseri, near Kochi on May 4.

Following the incident, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala had asked him to proceed on compulsory leave immediately.

Jose, however, rejected the charge and said a conspiracy had been hatched to tarnish his image.

The invigilator concerned was apparently not aware that the person in question was an IPS officer.
