Thenmala: The City Police seized around 10,000 litres of spirit that were being smuggled in a tanker lorry here on Wednesday.
Thiruvananthapuram Special Squad received a tip-off about a tanker bringing spirit from Tamil Nadu to the State and detained it at the check post here.
Two youth, Rahul and Rupesh, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
The police and the Excise officials are on high alert anticipating smuggling of spirit and illicit liquor to the State ahead of the festive season.
