Thiruvananthapuram: Joining the rest of the country, Kerala will observe DaanUtsav during the Gandhi Jayanti week from October 2 to 8.
DaanUtsav is a festival of giving. It inspires people to share their wealth, time and love among those who need them the most in the society. The festival enables one to experience the joy of giving.
Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will spend upto an hour with the less privileged section of people at seven places in the State as part of the festival, a release said here.
DaanUtsav was first observed in India in 2009. The festival is going to be held for the first time in Kerala.
