UP minister sparks controversy with communal statement

Ameti: Opposition parties in Uttar Pradesh slammed state minister Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh after he said that anyone who wants to live in India should shout Radhe Radhe. The minister made the offensive statement during a religious ceremony in Amethi district.
A video of the incident is currently circulating on social media networks. He said, “Hindustan mein rehna hai to Radhe-Radhe kahna hai‘ (you will have to chant Radhe-Radhe if you want to live in India)”.
The Samajwadi Party (SP), Uttar Pradesh's largest opposition party, has strongly condemned the minister's remarks and accused the ruling party of divisive politics, Siasat Daily reported.
“BJP wants to disturb communal peace and amity….the minister must be acted against…he should be sacked,” a senior leader said.

Nand Kishore Gurjar, a Bharatiya Janata Party leader from Ghaziabad's Loni seat, recently made a controversial speech in which he asked Hindus to avoid visiting dargahs (tombs of Sufi saints). ”Don’t go to the dargah as jehadis are buried there…..they had committed atrocities on Hindu women,” Gurjar had said.
