Supreme Court regains full strength as 2 judges appointed to top court

AANew Delhi: Justices N Kotiswar Singh and R Mahadevan were promoted as Supreme Court judges on Tuesday.

The appointments were announced on X by Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal.

Once they take the oath, the apex court will regain its sanctioned strength of 34, including the chief justice.

Jammu and Kashmir's chief justice, Justice N Kotiswar Singh has become the first judge from Manipur to have been appointed to the top court, PTI reported.

Justice Mahadevan is at present the acting chief justice of the Madras High Court.
