New Delhi: This Diwali, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will "gift" 75,000 young people jobs all around the nation in an original celebration. On Saturday, two days before Diwali, the PM will interact via video conferencing with youngsters, according to sources.

75,000 young people will receive appointment letters for positions in various ministries and government departments.

Jobs will be distributed across a variety of departments, including banking, customs, the Railway Ministry, the Home Ministry, the Labour and Employment Ministry, the Central Industrial Security Force, and the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Union ministers from various cities across the nation will also take part in this programme, NDTV reported.

The following ministers will join Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan from Odisha, Minister of Health Mansukh Mandaviya from Gujarat, Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur from Chandigarh, Minister of Commerce Piyush Goyal from Maharashtra, Minister of Railway Ashwini Vaishnav from Rajasthan, Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman from Tamil Nadu, Minister of Heavy Industries Mahendra Pandey from Uttar Pradesh, Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda from Jharkhand, and Minister of Panchayati Raj Giriraj Singh from Bihar.

Additionally, other ministers from various cities will join, and all BJP MPs will participate from their respective parliamentary districts.

After receiving harsh criticism for the declining employment rate, PM Modi declared in June of this year that ten lakh new jobs will be generated over the following 18 months.

Rahul Gandhi, a leader of the Congress, criticised the central administration at the time, calling it one made up of "maha jumlas."

The Congress leader compared the recent offer of 10 lakh government employment to the pre-election promise of 2 crore jobs made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014.

The BJP and Prime Minister Modi have come under constant criticism from the opposition, who accuse them of "destroying" the economy and creating unemployment. Elections for the Lok Sabha and states have made employment a key campaign issue.
