London: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has identified 15 people allegedly involved in the violence during a protest at the Indian High Commission in London on March 19.

The breakthrough has been made more than two months after the agency released photos of 45 suspects.

The agency will work with the immigration department to issue Look Out Circular (LOC) for them, The Indian Express reported.

Alongside, NIA pinned down on four Khalistan supporters who allegedly targeted the Indian Consulate in San Francisco on July 2.

NIA team will visit Canada next month to investigate the Khalistan attack on the Indian High Commission there.

As for 15 people identified in UK, India will have to press the UK government to take action against them.

Though NIA has charged against them under UAPA, there is no similar law in UK to take action against them.

After preliminary probe found terror link in London protests to Pakistan’s ISI, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs directed NIA to file fresh case in April.

Also, the ministry asked Delhi Police, which had registered an FIR under UAPA, to hand over the probe to the NIA.

During a visit to the UK in May, NIA collected evidence and released five videos of the incident later when returned to India.

To its request to public to help identify the suspects, the agency received more than 500 calls, according to the report.

The Indian Expressed reported citing MHA sources that India’ s Research and Analysis Wing ( R&AW) helped NIA identify the suspects.

‘With the help of crowdsourcing of information and other agencies, the NIA has identified 15 attackers and after identifying them, they are in process to issue a LOC against them soon,’ an official was quoted as saying.

To probe the violent protest at the Indian Consulate in San Francisco, NIA team visited the US last month and recorded statements of senior officials and security personnel at the Indian Consulate.

The team also collected CCTV footage with an official reportedly saying, ‘We are scanning the CCTV footage and trying to identify more attackers. We are also seeking help from the Bureau of Civil Aviation.’
