Man posing as cardiologist performs surgeries, 7 patients die at MP Hospital

Damoh: A man posing as a cardiologist treated patients at a missionary-run hospital in Madhya Pradesh’s Damoh leading to the death of seven people, India Today reported.
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has launched an investigation into the incident.
A complaint by a resident of Damoh, Deepak Tiwari, alleges that a man introducing himself as cardiologist Dr N John Kem from London performed heart surgeries on 15 patients.
It is reported that the imposter’s treatment led to seven deaths.
It is now revealed that the man who pretended to be Dr Kem was actually Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav .
Tiwari in his letter to NHRC claimed that the hospital did not report the deaths to the police.
The hospital, according to him, misled the families of the deceased and charged heavy fees, before handing over the bodies without post-mortem.
The imposter reportedly claimed to have held foreign medical degrees and misused the identity of the well-known UK based cardiologist Professor (Emeritus) John Kem from St George’s University, London.
Prof Kem reportedly confirmed that the accused impersonated him using his identity.
Seeking probe into the deaths, Tiwari pressed for filing a murder case against the accused and the hospital management alongside demanding to cancel the hospital’s registration.
District Collector Sudhir Kochar said that an investigation is underway.
