Visakhapatnam: A man in the Visakhapatnam's Madurwada has been arrested for setting on fire a wine shop after he was denied alcohol.

The incident took place in the Visakhapatnam's Madurwada police station area on Sunday, NDTV reported citing police.

When a man identified as Madhu came to a wine shop in the Madurwada area at the closing time, staff denied him alcohol, according to Pothinamallayya Palem Inspector Rama Krishna.

An argument broke out and the accused left the spot, only to return on Sunday evening with a petrol tank.

He threw petrol inside the shop and even on the staff members and set the place on fire.

The staff ran away as the fire began engulfing the shop, burning down computer, printer and other properties valuing at more than 1.5 lakh.

The accused, police said, has been taken into custody, filing a case against him under Sections 307 and 436 of the IPC.
