New Delhi: The Iranian Embassy in India flew its flag at half-mast Sunday to mourn Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's death in US-Israeli strikes.

In an X statement, the embassy expressed grief "the Embassy extends its heartfelt condolences to His Holiness Imam Mahdi (May God hasten his reappearance), to the Muslim Ummah, to the great nation of Islamic Republic of Iran, and to all freedom-loving nations of the world.”

It warned of "grave consequences," holding the US and Israel responsible, and vowed Iran would persist "with strength and resilience."

The embassy urged global governments to condemn the "blatant crime" and reject silence on the aggression.

This follows IRGC vows of the "most ferocious offensive in history," targeting US-Israel for Khamenei's killing—confirmed by state TV declaring 40 days' mourning.
