In a shocking incident that has sparked outrage, a Delhi Police Sub-Inspector has been suspended after a video surfaced showing him allegedly assaulting men who were offering namaz on a road in Inderpuri. The incident, which occurred on Friday morning, quickly went viral on social media, prompting action from authorities.

The 34-second video captures the Sub-Inspector kicking and slapping the men who were praying by the side of a busy road. The footage also shows a head constable shouting at the worshippers, urging them to leave the area.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police MK Meena, the officer in charge of a police post in Delhi's Inderlok area has been suspended with immediate effect, and disciplinary action is being taken. A departmental inquiry has been initiated to investigate the matter further.

In the video, the suspended officer is seen walking up to a group of worshippers near a mosque and kicking two of them from behind. He then proceeds to violently shove the men who were praying, even striking one of them on the neck.

The incident escalated as the suspended officer faced resistance from the crowd, leading to tensions and angry protests. Security has been heightened in the area to maintain law and order.

Political reactions have also poured in, with the Congress' Delhi unit condemning the incident as "shameful" and calling for accountability within the Delhi Police.
