Delhi liquor policy case: Kejriwal moves High Court against CBI arrest
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday approached the Delhi High court questioning his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).A Delhi court sent Kejriwal to the judicial custody on Saturday until July 12, India Today reported.
The lower court reportedly said at the time that Kejriwal’s name emerged as one of the ‘main conspirators’ in the liquor policy scam.
When the CBI produced Kejriwal in the court following three-day custodial probe, the Central agency sought 14-day judicial custody of him.
The agency alleged that Kejriwal was not cooperating with the probe, giving evasive replies.
In its remand plea, the agency said that AAP leader may influence witnesses and those who are yet to be quizzed alongside evidence is already exposed before him during the custodial interrogation.
The CBI arrested the 55-year-old on June 26 from Tihar Jail where he was lodged in a money laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate.
