A Delhi court has summoned a woman wrestler to provide testimony in the ongoing sexual harassment trial against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, former BJP MP and ex-president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).

The wrestler, who previously accused Singh of harassment, is scheduled to appear before Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Vaibhav Chaurasiya on November 14 to record her statement.

The trial, which began in July, follows over a year since authorities filed a detailed chargesheet against Singh. Charges were officially brought against him under the Indian Penal Code's sections 354 (assault or criminal force intended to outrage a woman's modesty) and 354A (sexual harassment). Although six wrestlers had initially accused Singh, he was cleared of allegations from one complainant.

Singh, who pleaded not guilty to the charges, denied wrongdoing, stating, “There is no question. When I did not make a mistake, why would I admit to it?”

The case against Singh includes a 1,500-page chargesheet, detailing allegations of sexual harassment, assault, and stalking. Statements from at least 22 witnesses - comprising wrestlers, a coach, a physiotherapist, and a referee from four different states - have been documented to support the claims of the six wrestlers involved.
