Chillingly scary! Video of snake hiding inside car’s side mirror goes viral

New Delhi: A man in Tamil Nadu had a chilling experience of seeing a snake hiding in his car’s side mirror, The Indian Express reported.

Footage showed a thin snake wiggling as its tail got buried into the chink between mirror cover and glass.

The video reportedly was captured on the Namakkal–Salem Road with anxious driver and his woman companion were heard discussing how to get rid of the reptile.

They were worried about the snake slithering into the car breaking itself free from the mirror.

‘Fortunately, the driver managed to stop safely, but the situation could have turned dangerous,’ the post on X said.

The video warned motorists to be cautious during chilly and wet months as snakes might seek warmth or shelter in vehicles.

The post further said that ‘Authorities and wildlife experts are advising drivers to check their vehicles carefully before starting, particularly after long parking hours or in areas surrounded by vegetation. Stay alert. Stay safe. A few minutes of precaution can prevent a major scare or accident.’

As the video went viral many online responded urging motorists to be cautious.

However one user said ‘Objects in the mirror are poisonous than they appear’ making fun of the caution written on side mirrors.

Another wrote, ‘Driver should have stopped the car immediately. It would have been dangerous and fatal if the snake flew and fell on passing motorcycles.’

A third user shared a personal experience, writing: ‘This incident happened with me on a bike. I didn’t dare to touch the bike for more than 10 years.’
