New Delhi: Days after Indian student shot dead in Toronto, Canadian police have made a headway in the case arresting a 39-year-old suspect.

Richard Jonathan Edwin allegedly sprayed bullets on 21-year-old Kartik Vasudev at the Sherbourne Subway Station, according to Indian Express.

Police believe the accused committed another murder after killing Kartik.

Kartik Vasudev was found outside the Glen Road entrance with multiple gunshot wounds. He died in the hospital, police said.

Kartik, a management student from Ghaziabad, was travelling to work when he was attacked.

After shooting at Kartik multiple times, suspect Edwin fled the scene, according to investigators.

On Saturday, Edwin allegedly committed another murder. He shot multiples rounds at 35-year-old Elijah Eleazar Mahepath, 35 as the victim was walking Dundas Street East near George Street.

Police believe the murders were random attacks as the accused and the victims were not known to each other.
