Patna: Addressing a massive rally in Bihar to prepare grounds for 2024 polls Union Home Minister Amit Shah said Janatal Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar betrayed the party by walking out of the alliance.

Nitish Kumar, who is the chief minister of Bihar, snapped his party's ties with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) last month in an astute move.

Shah is currently on a two-day visit to Bihar making a stump speech at a rally called 'Jan Bhavna Mahasabha', at Rangbhoomi Ground in Purnia here.

Since the departure of JD(U) from NDA, BJP is left with the choice of going solo in the decisive 2024 polls.

Shah's visit to the state a month after the break-up suggests the BJP is all set to trigger an intense campaign in the state.

The minister talked at length about several projects initiated by the Central government for the state, including an airport.

In order whip up the crowds' response, Shah asked to them to applaud that the government has built them an airport.

Alongside campaigning, Shah has party responsibilities during the visit; he is likely to meet BJP MPs and MLAs alongside chairing the party's state Core Committee meeting in the evening.
