Thiruvananthapuram: In another tragic blow to the Malayalam television industry, Dr. Priya, a 35-year-old television actress, passed away on Wednesday due to a sudden cardiac arrest.
Dr. Priya, who was eight months pregnant at the time of her death, had recently undergone a routine pregnancy check-up before experiencing the fatal heart attack. Her newborn baby is currently under intensive care.
The devastating news of Dr. Priya's passing was conveyed to her fans by actor Kishor Satya through his social media accounts. He expressed his grief over the unexpected loss, revealing that Dr. Priya had no prior health issues. His post highlighted the anguish of Dr. Priya's mother and her husband, Nanna, who had been by her side for the past six months.
Dr. Priya, a renowned figure in Malayalam television, was widely recognised for her role in 'Karuthamuthu.' She had temporarily stepped away from her acting career after her marriage. Alongside her work in the entertainment industry, Dr. Priya was also pursuing a postgraduate degree and practicing medicine at the PRS hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.
This unfortunate incident followed the tragic death of popular Malayalam TV and film actress Renjusha Menon, who was discovered deceased in her flat in Thiruvananthapuram just a few days ago. Renjusha Menon, 35 years old, was found hanging in her residence, which she shared with her husband, Manoj, also an actor. Reports suggested that financial troubles may have been a factor contributing to her passing.
