The Oscar nominated film "Minari" is all set for its pan Indian release on April 16.

The Korean- English language family drama directed by Lee Isaac Chung is critically acclaimed for its making and is considered to be a strong contender for the Golden Globes and the Oscars.

The film has collected 6 nominations for the Oscars and the same number of BAFTAs and has also garnered a Golden Globe in the best Motion Picture category.

"Minari" has received Oscar nominations in the categories of Best Picture, Best Director (Lee Isaac Chung), Best Original Screenplay (Lee Isaac Chung), Best Actor (Steven Yeun), Best Supporting Actress (Youn Yuh-jung), and Best Original Score (Emile Mosseri) and has bagged nominations at the BAFTAs, for Best Film Not In The English Language, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor (Alan Kim), Best Supporting Actress, Best Original Music, Best Casting (Julia Kim),

The film which had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2020 has already won several tokens of appreciation including the US Dramatic Grand Jury Prize and the US Dramatic Audience Award.

Chung's semi-autobiographical film, based on his own upbringing, portrays the tale of South Korean immigrants who try to make it in rural America during the 1980s. Even last year South Korea has made quite an impact at the Oscars with Bong Joon-ho's "Parasite" winning the best picture award.

Minari is being released in India by PVR Pictures.
