Malayalam actor Mammootty's mother Fathima Ismail passes away at 93

Kochi: Fathima Ismail, the mother of Malayalam film industry superstar Mammootty, passed away in the early hours of April 21 at a private hospital in Kochi due to age-related illnesses. She was 93 years old. Her funeral ceremony will be held at the Chembu Muslim Jamath Mosque at 4 pm on Friday.
Fathima was reportedly a well-liked figure in her village, Chembu, near Kochi, known for her approachable and friendly demeanour.
She was the mother of Malayalam film industry superstar Mammootty, as well as two other sons, actor Ibrahim Kutty and Zakariah, and three daughters, Ameena, Sauda, and Shafeena. Her husband, Panaparambil Ismail, passed away before her. Fathima's grandson is the actor Dulquer Salmaan.
Political figures and prominent personalities from the Malayalam film industry expressed their condolences on social media, honouring the memory of the actor's mother.
