We take every threat seriously: Canada responds to Khalistani threat

New Delhi: Canada’s transport minister said the Canadian government takes every threat seriously especially the one that concerns the airlines.
Pablo Rodriguez’s response comes almost a week after designated terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun in a video message threatened not to allow Air India to fly from November 19.
Federal police are investigating Singh’s warning to Canadians to avoid flying Air India starting the deadline he has given.
Pablo Rodriguez told reporters in Ottawa that ‘We take every threat seriously, especially when it concerns airlines.’
Gurpatwant Singh Pannun threatened on November 4 that Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport would be renamed and it would remain shut on November 19.
Alongside he warned fellow Canadians that their ‘lives would be in danger’ in the event of traveling Air India that day.
‘We are asking the Sikh people not to fly via Air India on November 19. There will be a global blockade. On November 19, don't travel by Air India or your life will be in danger,’ Pannun was quoted as saying.
Following Pannun's threat, authorities stopped issuing visitor entry passes in airports temporarily till November 30.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has reportedly been observing Pannun since 2019, according to the report.
