US ignored Palestinians’ need for their own independent state: Putin
text_fieldsMoscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday said the US policy for the Middle East has failed having not taken into account the needs of Palestinians, Reuters reported.
Putin was responding to the spiraling violence happening between Israel and Palestine over the last many days.
Meanwhile, Putin’s spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov claimed that Kremlin was in touch with warring parties seeking to play a role to ‘resolving the conflict’.
Dmitry Peskov warned about the risk of the conflict spilling over into other regions.
Putin reportedly shared his thoughts about US policy during his talks with visiting Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani.
"I think that many people will agree with me that this is a vivid example of the failure of United States policy in the Middle East," Putin was quoted as saying.
Putin said Washington tried to ‘monpolise’ efforts for peace in the region without seeking any ‘workable compromises’.
Accusing further, he said the US ignored Palestinians’ aspirations for ‘their own independent Palestinian state’.
The region is seeing horrendous violence and casualties with reports hourly pointing at increasing deaths tolls.
US president Joe Biden openly pledged support for Israel, and warned against any party hostile to Israel taking advantage of the situation.
It is reported that Kremlin as stating that President Putin and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan deplored ‘catastrophic rise’ in civilian deaths in the region.
Putin’s statement brings to sharp focus his continuing war in Ukraine which has nearly thrown the country off the gear.
More important, Russian is using Iran-made drones in attacking Ukraine which again suggests deeper ties between them even as Iran is accused of helping Hamas.
