Islamabad: Some of the political dissidents of Pakistan, who have sought asylum in the United Kingdom and other countries, are linked with terrorists inside the country, Islamabad acknowledged.

Pakistan's Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zehra Baloch told reporters so, responding to a question regarding alleged acid attack on jailed Prime Minister Imran Khan's aide, PTI reported.

Last week, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and former special assistant to the Prime Minister, Mirza Shahzad Akbar, claimed that he was attacked by being thrown acidic liquid at his residence in the UK.

Mumtaz denied any involvement of Pakistan administration or any Pakistan agencies in the attack, stating that it is not Islamabad's policy to target its own nationals abroad.

She reiterated that Pakistan is not engaged in any extra-territorial attacks against any individuals.
