Netanyahu turns against leaders of Britain, France, Canada

Tel Aviv: Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney of “emboldening Hamas”. Netanyahu was referring to the other trio calling for the stoppage of the military offensive and an end to restrictions on humanitarian aid in Gaza, The Guardian reported.

The accused leaders had condemned the Israeli government’s “egregious” actions in Gaza and warned that the UK and allies would take “concrete actions” unless Netanyahu stopped.

Netanyahu claimed in a Thursday X post that Hamas wanted to “destroy the Jewish state” and “annihilate the Jewish people”. He said that he could not understand how “this simple truth” evades the leaders of France, Britain, Canada and others.

“I say to President Macron, prime minister Carney and prime minister Starmer, when mass murderers, rapists, baby killers and kidnappers thank you, you’re on the wrong side of justice,” Netanyahu said in a video posted on X.

He then said that the mentioned leaders’ remarks were not backing peace but emboldened Hamas to continue fighting forever.

He appeared in the video in which he addressed the killing of two Israeli embassy staff in Washington, USA. The incident sent shock waves around the world and forced Israel to beef up security.

However, British Prime Minister Starmer condemned the attack on embassy staff, saying that it was “antisemitic”. He said, “..“my thoughts are with their colleagues, family and loved ones, and as always, I stand in solidarity with the Jewish community,” quoted The Guardian.
