Tehran: Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, a British-Iranian volunteer jailed in Iran on allegations of being a spy, has been released after five years in prison. Iran's foreign secretary has informed that Nazanin will soon be able to return to the UK. Though released from prison last March, Nazanin continued under house arrest in Tehran.

UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab welcomed Iran's decision. Meanwhile, her husband Richard Ratcliffe told the media that more cases are likely to be filed against Nazanin.

Iran arrested the volunteer on accusations of participating in a protest outside the Iranian embassy in London against the 2009 general election results and giving an interview to the BBC Persian, which they deem to be a move against the country.

Nazanin was arrested in 2016 from Tehran airport when she travelled to Iran to visit her family with her youngest daughter. The 43-year-old was serving as a project manager for the Thomson Reuters Foundation, a voluntary organisation.
