Minister V Muraleedharan visits well-known Shiva temple in Oman

Muscat: Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharam on Thursday offered prayers at the historic Shiva temple in Muscat, news agency ANI reported.

During his two-day visit to Oman, V Muraleedharam turned up at the temple and prayed ‘for lasting friendship between India and Oman.’

The post by the minister on X said: “Visited Muscat’s historic Shiva Temple, known as Motishwar Mahadev, with a history spanning over a century, standing as a testament to the enduring cultural ties between India and Oman. Prayed for the lasting friendship between the people of India and Oman.”

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on October 18 stated that the minister will pay his third official visit to the Sultanate of Oman on 18-19 October 2023.

The press release added that the minister will hold meetings with Omani leadership during the visit.

Alongside, he will open a lecture series organised by Indian Embassy “From Mandvi to Muscat: Indian Community and the Shared History of India and Oman”, which will shed light on the relationship between India and Oman.

He will engage in talks with Omani leadership and dignitaries, alongside inaugurating a painting exhibition, “India on Canvas: Masterpieces of Modern Indian Painting”.

Muraleedharan will interact with members of Indian communities and outfits in Oman and meet with professionals, blue-collar workers, health care workers, social workers, and school students, according to the report.
