Israeli forces barge into occupied West Bank killing four Palestinians
text_fieldsFour Palestinians have been killed and 19 wounded in the occupied West Bank in an upsurge of violence early Tuesday morning, Al Jazeera reported.
A large number of Israeli forces barged into the town of Nablus according to a spokesperson for the Palestinian Fatah movement.
Palestinian health and security officials said one of those killed was unarmed and three of the injured are in serious condition.
Another Palestinian, according to the ministry, was killed in Ramallah where the Palestinian Authority is headquartered in the Central West Bank.
The Israeli military responded that their forces were operating in Nablus and wouldn't say anything about the clashes.
A spokesperson for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said the president is working on to "stop this aggression against our people".
Clashes were happening in and around the Old City of Nablus in West Bank, according to Aljazeera.
Al Jazeera's Nida Ibrahim, reporting from Ramallah, quoted the locals as saying that situation was like 'scene from hell."
She added that Nablus has been besieged by Israeli forces for more than two weeks.
Despite reports of its increased presence and continued attacks, Israeli forces remained silent over the question of its responsibility in the killing of Palestinians.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces went head with nightly raids in the occupied West Bank since March in order for what it said dismantle "armed networks" in the area.
In May, Israeli soldiers shot and killed Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh while she was on assignment in Jenin, in the occupied West Bank, Al Jazeera reported.
