I would've 'absolutely' stopped Putin: Donald Trump
text_fieldsNewton/US: Former US President Donald Trump, who is attributed to the mob-storming of the Capitol building, said on Saturday, that he would have "absolutely stopped" Putin from invading Ukraine, Agence France-Press reported.
On the anniversary- January 6- of the assault on the US Capitol, Trump delivered a two-hour-long speech here saying that they will win the US presidential election for the third time. He is adamant that he won the polls in 2020.
During his speech, he stated that those jailed for their involvement in the Capitol incident are "hostages" and when he returns to power, he will pardon many. He asserted that January 6 "was a beautiful day".Trump then mocked President Joe Biden, saying the latter oversaw the economic decline and invited chaos to America's borders. Biden also failed to stop the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he said.
Trump warned that World War III will befall if America re-elects Biden, adding that this is the nation's last chance to save the nation.
On January 6, 2021, during the transfer of power, rioters fuelled by Trump-camp's false claims of voter fraud stormed the Capitol building. They vandalized the building, the seat of US democracy. Their intention was to halt the transfer of power.
In another speech on Saturday evening at a middle school in the Clinton, Trump suggested that Biden is too old as well as incompetent to govern the nation. He is leading America to ruin with overrun open borders, Trump said.
He went on saying, "We are a failing nation. We're going to bring it back from hell," AFP quoted him.
