London: An aviation tracker website reported that the flight which carried Queen Elizabeth II's coffin had become the most tracked flight ever, IANS reported.

According to a CNN report, Around five million people followed the late Queen's mortal remains when it was flown from Edinburgh to London on Tuesday, the website Flightradar 24 stated.

The number was gathered from two sources. Flightradar24 said that 4.79 million people tracked the flight on its website and mobile app, while 296,000 followed the aircraft on YouTube.

The previous record was made last month only when US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan. According to the website, Pelosi's Taiwan trip was tracked by around 2.9 million people. Before that, the most tracked flight was Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny's flight back to Russia, where he was to be imprisoned post arrival in 2021.

Queen's coffin was carried by the Royal Air Force plane, which took an hour and 12 minutes to flight.

It landed at RAF Northolt, a military station about six miles from Heathrow Airport in London. The coffin was taken to Buckingham Palace from Northolt.

The coffin was escorted to Westminster Hall, Parliament, on Wednesday. It will be kept there until her funeral on September 19 in Westminster Abbey, CNN reported.
