Mindvalley CEO Vishen Lakhiani has accused the United States of becoming increasingly unwelcoming toward immigrants after he was stopped by the FBI at a US airport, despite holding a valid O-1 visa.
He shared the experience in an Instagram post, where he expressed deep frustration with the country's current political climate.
Lakhiani, who is Malaysian-born and of Indian origin, said the incident left him “dread visiting” a nation he once admired. He highlighted that he has contributed to the US economy for more than 20 years. He noted that he has paid American taxes for 22 years and runs a company with 230 employees worldwide.
He criticised what he sees as growing anti-immigrant rhetoric in the US. He said the nation is becoming “closed and narrow-minded” because of leaders who “blame immigrants instead of offering real solutions.” He also said he hoped the next election would shift the political tone.
His remarks have drawn significant attention online. The video has crossed one million views, supported by his large following on Instagram.
Many users shared their own experiences with immigration and security processes. Others said increased security screening affects travellers regardless of their visa category.
