Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya rounded on Samajwadi Party head Akhilesh Yadav that the people had experienced a good government and could not be deceived by Yadav's seductive bluffs, Asian News International reported.

In a tweet on Monday, Maurya accused Yadav of spreading riots, hooliganism, forced migration etc., in the state. He said that the people of the state had not forgotten all the violence that went on during Samajwadi Party governance. Their tenure was marred with corruption, religious and caste conflicts etc., he alleged and said that the people did not forget those.

Earlier, Maurya had told reporters that Akhilesh speaks a lot regarding development. He said that he dares Akhilesh to contest in a constituency where he had contributed to its development. He mocked Akhilesh that he didn't have the guts to contest in any important constituency since Akhilesh is competing at Karhal in Mainpuri. BJP will give him a tough fight that Akhilesh will even forget to ride a bicycle later, Maurya said.

BJP has been putting the alleged forced migration of Hindus from certain areas in the state as one of their major campaign tools. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is monitoring the campaign in UP, has visited Kairana on Saturday. He conducted a door-to-door campaign among the alleged victims of forced migration under the SP regime in the state.

Uttar Pradesh is going to elections, for 403 constituencies, in seven phases starting on February 10. The other phases will be on February 14, 20, 21, 27, March 3 and 7. The counting of votes is scheduled for March 10.
