WhatsApp to show two different sections side by side, split view feature under testing

San Francisco: Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp is testing a new feature on tablets. Split view feature will allow users to see and use two different sections of the app side by side at the same time. The feature is still in Android beta.
As of now, the chat view takes up the entire screen. To open a different conversation, users go back to the chat list. The new feature will keep the chat list always visible.
A report in WABetaInfo said the split view feature will help users to manage and organise chats by quickly scrolling through the list of conversations without exiting the current chat.
The new feature is available after installing the latest update of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Play Store. It is expected to roll out to more users soon.
