Chinese university’s ‘kissing device’ takes internet by storm

Beijing: A unique ‘kissing device’ invented by Chinese university will help long distance lovers share ‘real’ physical intimacy.

Patented by the Changzhou Vocational Institute of Mechatronic Technology, the kissing device comes equipped with silicone lips, pressure sensors and actuators, CNN reported.

It can mimic a real kiss giving the users feeling of being intimately in touch their partners nevertheless being separated by distance.

Alongside replicating the pressure, movement and temperature of a user's lips, the device can transmit the sounds the users make, exactly the kind people make during smooching.

The first step is to download a mobile app and plug the device into the phone’s charging port.

Now pair the partner on the app and start video calling, enjoy being together however staying miles away from each.

The inventor of the device Jiang Zhongli said he was in long distance relationship with his girlfriend and they contacted over the phone, which formed inspiration for designing the device, Global Times reported.

He hopes that those interested in the device can expand and perfect its design.

The kissing device has created a ‘stir’ on China’s social media site Weibo with many users expressing shock and dismay at the device.

Many found it quite funny but a many others looked upon it as ‘vulgar’ and ‘creepy’.

There is not without concern among the Chinese people as some users criticized that children could buy and use it.
