BCCI.

IPL: Royal Challenger Banglore's (RCB) former star player and former South African skipper, AB de Villiers, has expressed his wish to return and play for the IPL franchise next year, NDTV reported.

The star batter said that he definitely would be in the squad next year, but at the moment, it is not sure in what capacity he will be joining the team.

Talking to VUSport, he said that he was glad that Virat Kohli confirmed his return. He is missing getting back on the team, he added.

He said that he had "heard a little bird tweeting" and that there might be some games in Bangalore. He would love to return to his "second home town" and watch the Chinnaswamy stadium in Banglore at full capacity again. He is looking forward to it, he added.

Virat Kohli had said earlier that de Villiers might be in the RCB squad the next season. In a video message posted on RCB's official Twitter handle, he said he misses de Villiers a lot but speaks to him regularly as De Villiers messages him.

"So we stay in touch, and he's very keenly watching RCB and hopefully here next year in some capacity," Kohli said.

De Villiers had amassed 5,162 runs at an average of 39.71, playing for RCB and has scored three centuries for the team. Earlier, he, along with 'Universal Boss' Chris Gayle, were inducted into RCB's Hall of Fame.
