New Delhi: The left-handed batter Suresh Raina called it a day for all kinds of cricket including premier League on Tuesday.

This is a throwback to the 35-year-old's retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020 tweeting that representing the nation and state in cricket has been an honour.

Now the announcement of Raina's retirement comes as a surprise to many of his fans as he was integral to Chennai Super Kings.

However, Raina was not sold in the auction for the games earlier this year.

Fans will remember him as a fixture in the team for years including the winning of the 2011 World Cup.

Notably, Raina proved his mettle as a leading cricketer representing India in all three formats of the game.

What stands out for a quick glimpse at Raina's career is his well-known contributions to white-ball cricket.

Raina bagged5615 runs at an average of 35.31 from 226 ODI matches for the nation with his highest score being 116 not out, as per a report in India Today.

Raina played 78 matches scoring 1065 runs in T20Is alongside being the first Indian player to hit century in the shortest format of the game.
