Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer mocked on social media for PCB tweet
cancel

Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer has been subjected to social media hate for a tweet in support of the Pakistan Cricket Board in the wake of the cancellation of tours by the England & Wales Cricket Board over security concerns.

The England & Wales Cricket Board has decided to cancel Pakistan tours planned for its men and women teams citing security reasons.

"The @TheRealPCB have every reason to be disappointed with the ECB. Pak and WI toured England last year during the pandemic before vaccines. England owes so much to both Pak and WI. The least ECB could do is not cancel the reciprocal tours. There are no winners when cricket is cancelled," Jaffer had tweeted.

A barrage of hateful tweets was sent to the former cricketer.

"Wasim bhai, is making arrangements for you to participate in the next Kashmir Premier League 👍 Oh and yes, say bye bye to the IPL!" commented one user.

"They cancelled tour because of specific Intelligence about the Teπor attack on the NZ team and other foreigners. What's ur logic to defend an ally of Taliban named Pakistan?" is another Twitter comment,

In response to the hate, the former Indian cricketer shared a photo of the scorecard from the second test match between Pakistan and India, which took place in Kolkata during Pakistan's 2007 tour of the country. In one of the match's innings, Jaffer had scored 202 runs.
