When the world's tallest man met the world's shortest woman
text_fieldsThe great pyramids of Giza in Egypt last week received the world’s tallest man, Sultan Kosen and the world’s smallest woman, Jyoti Amge as the duo was invited for a photoshoot.
Sultan Kosen, who hails from Turkey, holds the record for the world's tallest man with a height of 251 cm (8 ft 2.8 in). On the other hand, India's Jyoti Amge holds the Guinness title for world's shortest woman with only 62.8 cm (2 ft 06) tall.
The images of the photo-shoot have gone viral on social media as the mismatched pair's height difference became even more astonishing in close proximity.
The pair was invited by the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board to visit Cairo's most famous sites, in an attempt to help boost tourism in the country.
News outlets in Egypt said Sultan expressed happiness at being able to visit Egypt, pointing out that it is a golden opportunity to see the monuments of Egypt and the archaeological and historical areas which he has always wished to see.
Jyoti said she has been looking forward to visiting Egypt since her childhood, especially as it is a country with a long history and civilization that stretches back thousands of years, similar to Indian civilization.
While Sultan took the Guinness title from Chinese Xi Shun, who measured in 2005 7 ft 8.95 inches, Jyoti won the record after her 18th birthday in 2011. She currently works as an actress, in addition to co-hosting a show called ‘Lo Show Dei Record’, according to the Guinness World Records official website.
