Indian envoy reviews Haj preparations, welcomes first pilgrims in Makkah
text_fieldsMakkah: India’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Suhel Khan, visited Makkah to review preparations for this year’s Haj and welcomed the first group of Indian pilgrims arriving from Madinah.
He was joined by Consul General Fahad Suri and Consul (Haj) Sadaf Choudhary during the inspection and reception.
Officials checked accommodation, transport and support services put in place for pilgrims. The visit comes as thousands of Indian citizens prepare to take part in the annual pilgrimage.
Authorities are increasing the use of the Haramain High-Speed Railway this season. Many pilgrims will travel by train between Makkah and Madinah and from Jeddah to Makkah.
The rail link is expected to cut travel time and ease movement, offering a more reliable option than road transport.
Officials said coordination with Saudi authorities continues to ensure smooth movement and better facilities for pilgrims in the days ahead.
