Green flags, green mundu, green caps, green t-shirts, green laddu…it was all green in Malappuram on Monday, not just for the Indian Union Muslim League, but also for the ardent supporters of the party and its candidate P K Kunhalikutty, fondly called as Kunhapa by the partymen.

Kunhalikutty registered an emphatic victory in the Lok Sabha byelection held in Malappuram last Wednesday. He defeated Left Democratic Front (LDF) candidate M.B. Faisal by a creditable margin of 171,023 votes.
