New Delhi: The Delhi Commission for Women sought a report from Delhi police regarding online slander against arrested research scholar Safoora Zargar.
Delhi police took in custody the 27-year-old pregnant Zargar under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA)for alleged violence during the anti-CAA protests.
She was accused of leading the anti-CAA protests at Jaffradbad metro station in February 2020.
The DCW sought the Delhi police to file information on FIR regarding online attack and details of the accused, by May 10.
Days ago she was abused on social media questioning her virtue and character.
The DCW has asked the Delhi Police about the measures taken to remove the posts outraging her modesty.
