New Delhi: The Delhi Police has registered another FIR against social activist and founder of United Against Hate, Khalid Saifi, who has been leading the anti-CAA protests.

United Against Hate cofirmed that the Delhi Police booked him in the fresh FIR and sent him to police custody on Sunday.

Saifi was arrested on February 26 when communal violence was going on in Delhi’s Jafferabad area. Saifi, who was in good condition at the time of his arrest, was found unable even to walk, when he was produced in the court.

UAH activists said he was tortured in custody.

Khalid Saifi and Congress leader Ishrat Jahan were among the first civil activists who were arrested in the name of anti-CAA protests in Delhi.

Gulif Sha Khatoon, Safoora Zargar, Meeran Haider, Shifaurrahman, Natasha Narval, Devangana Kalitha and others were arrested during lockdown slapping various charges.

The Delhi Court, while considering the plea of Asif Iqbal Tanha, an activist of SIO, who also was arrested, had criticized the Delhi Police for discrimination in the enquiry.
