Premkant Baghel became a glimmer of hope, when he saved lives of six Muslim neigbhours risking his own—now he is battling for life after suffering severe burns.
Premkant Baghel ventured to help his Muslim neighbours, when assailants set ablaze their house.
When he knew about rioters hurled petrol bombs at the house he couldn’t wait to help.
Premkant Baghel he rushed in to to save people trapped inside the burning house, forgetting his own safety.
Baghel suffered severe burns in the process as he bailed out his friend's aged mother engulfed in fire.
As much as he saved lives, it was a thankless effort as there was nobody to take him to a hospital.
The neighbours called an ambulance but there was no response.
Baghel spent the night at his house with 70 per cent burns, as his helpless family and friends watched his bed.
Only in the morning, he was taken to GTB Hospital where he has since been battling for his life.
