New Delhi: Maneka Gandhi, Union Minister for Women and Child Development (WCD), directed the National Commission for Women (NCW) to probe “expeditiously” all complaints of sexual harassment the body has received under #MeToo movement.

“I have asked NCW to take up every #MeTooIndia complaint of sexual harassment at work for expeditious disposal as and when the complainants approach them,” Gandhi tweeted on Thursday.

NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma said 5-6 women who made public their experiences approached the Commission with formal complaints.

Talking to The New Indian Express, she said the organization has initiated prompt action writing to the police and other relevant authorities.
