Kumaraswamy to have two deputies
text_fieldsBengaluru: With the fall of the three-day-old BJP government in Karnataka, Congress-JDS coalition has decided on the power sharing formula in the new government to be headed by JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy.
Reports suggest that the state may have two deputy chief ministers. Final call in this regard will be taken by the Central leadership of Congress.
Kumaraswamy is all set to take oath as the new chief minister on May 23.
According to reports, Congress will have 20 and JD(S) will have 13 ministers in the new government.
Kumaraswamy is likely to keep important portfolios including finance and intelligence.
Kumaraswamy had earlier said the swearing-in ceremony would take place at Kanteerava stadium on May 21. However, he later in the evening said the swearing-in would be held on May 23 as May 21 happens to be the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Rest of Kumaraswamy's cabinet is likely to take oath only after the trust vote, which is likely to be held on Thursday.
