Kolkata: Former CPI(M) leader Somnath Chatterjee Monday said the party should join hands with the Congress in West Bengal to take on Trinamool Congress.
“The Left parties should tie-up with other secular parties in West Bengal against Mamata Banerjee. The CPI(M) alone can’t do that as it is so weak,” Somnath Chatterjee said.
"The party leaders should look back to know their reasons behind the setback suffered by the party,” he said.
"I believe that Sitaram Yechury can bring about changes in the party. But I doubt if Yechury has the majority in the politburo. The Kolkata plenum will strengthen the party," he said.
